Maintaining excellence: Quintas Energy retains ISO 55001 accreditation

Once again, Quintas Energy has passed the audit for its ISO 5001 certification, underlining our continuing dedication to the most rigorous standards of asset management.

First published in 2014, ISO 55001 is a unified set of standards regarding asset management. Quintas Energy was the first independent asset management company in the solar PV sector to gain ISO 55001 certification in 2019, and it has passed annual audits ever since. ISO 55001 accreditation has a length of three years with yearly follow ups, with our third renewal due next year.

The certification was confirmed in October 2024, following an exhaustive third-party audit, which took in off-site evaluations of our Seville offices and solar plants in both Spain and the UK, as well as studying documents concerning Quintas processes in Spain, Italy and the UK remotely, via the in-house Ariadne platform.

For us, such internationally recognised certification is extremely important. It gives clients and industry partners a quick and reliable means of determining Quintas’ professional integrity in asset management, expressed through our commitment to top-quality services, impartiality and independence, and provides solid reassurance that we can effectively and sustainably manage our clients’ assets to achieve optimal performance throughout their entire lifecycle.

Our Asset Management policy is based on the fundamental principles of this standard, in full compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory obligations. In parallel, Quintas ensures that its strategic objectives stay aligned with both our corporate objectives and stakeholder requirements. We also make all relevant stakeholders and asset suppliers fully aware of their obligations regarding these objectives and stick to them.

We are delighted to have been able to maintain this level of service in the latest audit.

The report underlined that all ISO 55001 objectives had been achieved with regard to the efficacy of management processes. Areas of particular accomplishment were also highlighted, including:

  • A “mature and well-organised” asset management system and management plan.
  • A competent and team, skilled at engaging with clients.
  •  Strong project management monitoring.
  • Clear and informative inspection reports from site visits.
  • Continuous IT upgrades to better adapt to business needs.

As the renewable energy sector continues to develop and grow, incorporating new technologies such as BESS, it becomes exponentially more complex and widely distributed. Our systems and processes for effective Asset Management need to grow and develop with it, which is why such a strong expression of confidence as ISO 55001 accreditation is so important to us – as an outward expression of our commitment to impartial, independent professional service of the utmost quality.
